BREAKING NEWS: Trump Reacts To Mysterious Drones Flying Over New Jersey, New York

Mystery drone sightings continue in New Jersey and across the US. Here’s what we know

A surge of mysterious drone sightings over New Jersey and other parts of the eastern United States has sparked widespread speculation and concern about their origins and purpose.

In response, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) implemented temporary flight restrictions on Wednesday and Thursday, prohibiting drone activity in 22 areas across New Jersey and 30 areas in New York. These zones primarily include regions in and around New York City and Long Island, where critical infrastructure is located. FAA officials confirmed the restrictions were requested by federal security agencies and will remain in effect through mid-January.

The FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, and state agencies are actively investigating the reports. However, authorities have stated there is no evidence so far to suggest the drones pose a threat to national security or public safety. Officials have also noted that many reported sightings have been attributed to legal drones, manned aircraft, helicopters, and even celestial objects like stars.

Federal agencies have the authority to track and disable drones identified as threats, but that authority was set to expire at midnight on Friday. However, a temporary spending bill approved by the House on Friday would extend this power until March while also averting a government shutdown. Senate approval is anticipated to follow.

What’s Happening in New Jersey?

Since mid-November, dozens of witnesses across New Jersey have reported drone sightings. These include reports near the Picatinny Arsenal, a military research and manufacturing facility, and over President-elect Donald Trump’s golf course in Bedminster.
